We have contracted group rates at the following 3 hotels. When registering, guests MUST indicate the wedding party name and group rate in order to get it. They are holding these rates until 1 month before the wedding. Here are the details: (the first two are downtown, approximately 15 minutes from the wedding site.)
1) We would recommend this place over all "reasonably" priced hotels. It's the Tazewell Hotel & Suites, 245 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA 23510, telephone (757) 623-6200. The website is www.thetazewell.com, in case anyone wants to see it. They are holding 15 rooms at a rate of $89 per night for both Friday and Saturday nights (10/8 and 10/9). If someone wants earlier and/or later dates, they need to ask if the group rates are available for those dates as well. They seem very accommodating.
2) The Clarion James Madison Hotel, 345 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA 23510, telephone (757) 622-6682. This is right down the street from the Tazewell. The group rate is $79; however, it's not as nice as the Tazewell. They have 5 rooms saved at this rate, and will add more if we need them and they are available. Again, guests need to ask for the Erbach/Baum wedding group rate to get this. It's also reserved for Friday and Saturday nights at this rate.
3) The Holiday Inn Select Norfolk Airport, 1570 North Military Highway, Norfolk, VA 23502, telephone (757) 213-2231. This hotel is farther from the wedding (about 30 minutes); however, is 5 minutes from the airport. It's not downtown, so there's not as much to do, but it is a very nice hotel. It's also more expensive - $109 per night (group rate!). They have saved Friday through Sunday nights (checking out Monday), 10 rooms at this rate. Again, ask for the Erbach Wedding Group rate.

Norfolk International Airport is approximately 9 miles from Downtown Norfolk. This is the largest airport in the area.
Newport News/Williamsburg is approximately 28 miles from Downtown Norfolk.
Other airport options:
Richmond is about an hour drive from the Hampton Roads area.
Dulles International and Reagan National airports in Washington DC. Because these are larger airports in a big city there may be some good fares, however it is approximately a 3 hour drive to Norfolk, VA.
